This workshop enables participants to learn how to improve on pictures taken by them with comments and critique by an instructor who is an international photography judge. Each participants shall bring along 5 to 10 images photographed by them. The images are projected on the screen in random order and participants do not know who the images belong to.

This is followed by a guided session by the instructor who will let the participants have a hands on digital enhancement on 2 to 4 images provided by the instructor. The instructor will guide the participants step by step on how to digitally enhance the images. Participants shall bring their laptop equipped with the Photoshop and ACDSee software. The Trial version of the software shall be installed if these software are not installed in the participants laptop.

This is one of the best way to improve photography. Suitable for beginners, especially for those not well versed in digital enhancement software.

Someone asked: Can Creative photography be taught??

Our Answer is: One can be conditioned to look at things in a creative way.?

This course shall have its practical sessions conducted over one weekend where the participants are led by the instructor who is a Fellow of The Royal Photographic Society UK. Various techniques and ways to approach the subject will be discussed during the practical sessions.

Lesson 1: 1st October 2010, Friday, 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Lesson 2,3: 2nd October 2010, Saturday, 3.00pm to 8.00pm
Lesson 4,5: 3rd October 2010, Sunday, 8.00am to 10.00am, 6.00pm to 8.00pm
Lesson 6: To be confirmed in the class

The Proficiency level focuses on creative photography where the various photography techniques will be covered. The Art of Seeing is very important, hence, the proficiency level consists of 4 sessions of outdoor practical practice with the instructor and 2 classroom sessions for briefing and critique.

This workshop shall also meet the objective of making you a more confident photographer, able to handle day and night scenes. The various special techniques such as Panning, Long Exposure, Gradual Zoom etc will be covered and you shall practise them with guidance.

The prerequisite for this course is knowledge of fundamentals of basic photography.

Dear PhotoVivo-ers and friends/students of Knowledge Bowl,

Mid Autumn Festival is round the corner and it is time to bring your family out on a night trip to immerse in the Mid Autumn festive mood, especially along Clarke Quay in Singapore River where cultural activities as well as beautiful lanterns and floats lined the bank and river. PhotoVivo brings to you a photography competition in conjunction with this Mid Autumn By The River event from 8th to 22nd September 2010.

We are now preparing for the PhotoVivo Overseas trip to exotic Siem Reap from 9th to 14th December 2010 to explore the charms of the Khmer Heritage, notably the ancient structures of the Angkor complexes. Don’t miss this trip, which guarantees you loads of pictures.

The results of the Singapore My Home – Live Our Dreams, Fly Our Flag competition is announced in the PhotoVivo forum. The winning images are uploaded in the forum.

We also release the PhotoVivo Distinction results for the closing July 2010 batch. We take this opportunity to congratulate the successful applicants for the Associate of PhotoVivo Singapore (APVS) and Licentiate of PhotoVivo Singapore (LPVS).
