TERMS & CONDITIONS

General Rules

Ø Under the Terms and Conditions, “The Organiser” refers to PhotoVivo, NDP EXCO, and Nexus.
Ø The competition is open to anyone residing in Singapore and overseas Singaporeans.
Ø There is no limit to the number of entries submitted. Each participant is eligible to win only one of the top 13 prizes mentioned above. However, each participant may win more than 1 Accepted (Lucky draw) prize.
Ø The Competition will commence on 12th May 2010 and end on 13th June 2010.

Image Specifications

Ø Images should reflect the theme of the competition. The photographer however is free to interpret the theme in his own creative way.
Ø Composite photographs, multiple exposures, and images manipulated electronically that distort the reality of the image or otherwise will be disqualified. Adjustments of contrast, saturation or levels are acceptable.
Ø Images must be in JPEG format and at least 3000 pixels on the long side with minimal compression (approximately 6 Megapixel resolution or filesizes of at least 2.5MB).
Ø Images can be in colour or monochrome.

Submission of Entries

Ø The images must be submitted on a CD-Rom, together with the duly completed official entry form by 13th June 2010 1800hrs (Photocopies of the form are acceptable) to the following address:

Ø The Organiserwill not be responsible for any loss, damage or misplacement of entries before or during delivery. Proof of postage shall not be accepted as proof of delivery.
Ø Slides, negatives and photo prints will not be accepted.
Ø Entries submitted are non-returnable.

Judging Criteria

Ø Contest entries will be judged based on adherence to theme, composition, and creativity.
Ø The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence pertaining to the decision of the results will be entertained.

Image Copyrights

Ø Participants must own the sole copyright of images submitted.
Ø The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any prize winners who do not own the copyrights to their images or when the source of the images is in doubt.

Reproduction and Usage Rights by The Organiser

Ø The Organiserreserves the right to use the winning and accepted entries for NDP publicity and marketing purposes, as well as National Education purposes. The copyright of the works will remain with the photographers. However, due credit will be accorded to the relevant photographers should the Organiser use their winning photographs.

Prizes

Ø All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable for cash, credit or benefit-in-kind.
Ø The Organiser reserves the right to substitute prizes with a comparable alternative due to unforeseen circumstances or circumstances beyond the Organiser’s control.
Ø Only winners will be notified by post.
Ø Results of the photo contest (63 prize-winning entries) will be released in July 2010 through the PhotoVivo.com website.

Miscellaneous

Ø By entering the competition, all participants agree to abide by the Terms & Conditions. Any breach of these rules by any participant will automatically void all of his/her entries. Such entries will not be considered for judging.
Ø The Organiser reserves the right to reject any entry at its own discretion.
Ø Terms and conditions are subject to change as and when the Organiser deems fit. Any change will be reflected on the contest website.
